Help Me, What Reason?

Wondering why I caught some fishes today? Because we headed home after the interview I feel very good inside so I don't want to spoil my day when I get to work. I did not call my boss rather I called my supervisor at the temp and informed her that I do not like taking calls and if she can get me something else or other company that is closer at home.

Tomorrow I will talk to my boss and let her know that I can't really take calls and if she did not agree to give me another tasks which I doubt she will. I will inform the temp and they will take me out from there and set me for another interviews with other companies if necessary. So, I would need to face my last day at work tomorrow if ever. I think if am back to being bum will concentrate with blogging and take technical writing course online which I found free for basic one. Looking forward to get a job that I really want.

LUNCH WITH FILIPINOS IN THE NAVY

Today I had lunch with some Filipinos working in the same company from different department. Having lunch with them is fun sharing food from appetizer to dessert. They are hoping that I will renew my contract and get a permanent position in the company, well am crossing my fingers too although work is boring having your co-filipinos around make you feel at home. Most of them have been here for quite a while and funny 'coz am not alone.

I mean am not alone who doesn't know how to count the US change, she does the same way I do. Grab change and tell the cashier to pick the amount needed. Too funny coz she's been here for 25 years but hey they are all fluent in Tagalog so it made my day complete. Knowing that your kababayans are still humble no matter how long they've been here. These are the kind of people I want to deal with not those who act as if they are someone when they get to the US.

Nursing Assistant Schools

My nurse friend is trying to convince me to take nursing course or even cna training because according to her it's fun and higher compensation. But I do not have the nerve and am such a weak person when it comes to hospital matter. She advised me too that it's easy and in time I will enjoy the job but really not my preferences. Though I am convincing my friends as well to take cna courses because of the benefits and landing a job easily. Taking up this course is not hard enough I know that but you have to be physically and mentally capable of doing so and of course studying from the best cna schools would be a plus. Yep! The Little Imelda got another shoes! It came yesterday a courtesy of my booboo coz paypal does not work with the online store where I got the shoes. On top of that there are more shoes coming this week. I rewarded myself for the hard work in blogging because this is for my shoe money. I think I'd lessen this habit now 'cause it needs to be more productive. Wanna know where to put my revenue here? It's going to my niece schooling to take up BS HRM. My savings so far is enough for her 1^st semester tuition.

New Environment, New Friend

Started my new job today, it's an administrative job and its fun to work with the people. They are so cool, funny and friendly. I've finally met my friendster friend at the office we had lunch together so for me adjusting in this new environment is not a big deal. There are also lots of Filipinos working in different department. I feel at ease upon entering the building and I have a good feeling about the environment too. I am learning a lot now about cars, boats, mobile vans, motorcycles and many more. My booboo was wondering what did I wear today so when I got home let my camera do the job.

15 Minutes Interview

Yesterday quite a long day for me, had my interview at 9AM for an administrative position here in Vienna about 3 miles from our place. The interview lasted for only 15 minutes and the interviewer is a Filipino too, so lucky me! Pretty basic questions and in the end he asked me "gaano ka na katagal dito?" (how long have u been here in the US?). I had a good vibe because he also told me that among all the applicants he interviewed for this week I am on of the top most (flapping ears!) I had my drug screening test in the afternoon and we will know the result in 2 days which I am confident enough that there is no alcohol content in my body maybe all they can find is coffee! Hope to get a job real soon!

Choosing an IT Career

It was so funny how I entered into college before because I was undecided which course to take and keep looking for a technical school that offers practical in IT training than theory. This way you will learn more because you are applying the procedures in practical. I took exams from different tech schools and received some scholarship for Education course major in computer education which I did not pursue because I enrolled to another university without thinking am already enrolled. In short it was the Asia's pioneering school so I took the exam, passed the exam, got my scholarship confirmation from my sponsor, the counselor advised me to go to different windows in the lobby and they gave ma a registration sheet and told me to attend my class the next day! I did not regret going taking an IT course because i had enough IT training.

Culinary School Guide

We do not know that one of our hidden skills is cooking, you may disagree with me but I believe everyone has a talent in cooking. In my family my sister is a great cook, nobody teach us how to cook we just learned on our way. Maybe if my sister went to a chef school she may developed her skills more. In the Philippines culinary schools are limited and high tuition fee to take the course.
